Condo for Rent/Roommate (Gwinnett County)

I am looking for a roommate to occupy my condominium. I'm really easy going and keep a clean house. The condo has a split plan, a shared living/dining room, washer & dryer, internet access (WiFi), and a fireplace. The bedrooms have large walk-in closets, and the Master bedroom has a French door leading to the patio. This is an ideal roommate floor plan. (The room for rent is the master suite, with a private bathroom and entrance.) In addition to the rear patio, there is also a storage room. Located near shopping and close to I-85 and I-285. The other thing I love about Journaling is that I can go back and see all the amazing answers to prayer and be reminded of the things that God has said to me, shown me etc.

I really enjoyed Jeremy's presentation, too. I grew up in a very charismatic, free church environment, which was great! But it left me really desiring some tradition and sacred rituals in my worship, even just in my alone time with God. As an adult I have been drawn to these things as a way to mark special times such as holidays, etc. It really seems to be a great complement to the freedom we enjoy in our normal daily walk and weekly corporate worship. I think both are important!

Brad and I are trying to find some ways to incorporate some symbolism and sacred times into our home, whether it's just to mark holidays, or more regularly.

If Brad shows up to church wearing a rope belt and brown robes though, you'll know we've gone too far!!

I have never been big on journaling, but since last Sunday I have used the one Sue made a few times and it's been great to record what I'm praying and hearing. I think I had only ever kept a journal in a "diary" sense and I really disliked it, but a prayer journal is totally different, it seems! I am looking forward to seeing what great changes come from this!

I agree and that is something we can actually do at home. Buy one of those "zen " gardens and a candle and during meditation draw a symbol and discuss with God. Like the fish symbol and how it was used to identify other Christians without being caught.

Yes, Susan did a lovely job on the journals... and I too love that way of connecting with God... and watching what He has done when you go back and reread them. Lately I have been not just writing to God... but writing what He is saying to me. That has been an amazing addition to my journaling experience. I know I will gleen much from going back and reading those entiries!

I really enjoyed Sue's journaling class. I have just started journaling again, and she gave us some ideas that will make my experience richer. God has recently revealed to me how important it is that I journal right now. There is so much that can be 'lost' over the years. I recently read an entry from a hard time in 2003 that I remembered very little of. Had I not journaled it, I would have lost most of what God did during that time. I want to hang on to what he is doing in my life...it will build my faith for the now andl later.

I also loved the journals that Sue worked so hard to make for each of us. She uses the creativity that God gave her to bless our community!

It was cool to draw in the sand in Jeremy's class last night. the sand represents our bodies and the as we draw in them that is what God does for us.... he imprints us with his design. All the symbols in that class were really eye opening.

I am selling my white MacBook because I've been very happy with it and I want to upgrade to a MacBook Pro. The only thing I modified from original condition is the hard drive which I replaced with a much larger, faster, and more reliable drive. This really is a great laptop and I have never once regretted buying it!

Turbo Tax is what I have been using for years. I always use the online version because it is portable and accessible from any Internet connection. You get free e-filing with the purchase.

It is great for helping others with their taxes for the same reasons. They can meet with me anywhere with an Internet connection (my house, Starbucks, their house, library, etc.) and we can go through the process together. I like to let them "drive" so they become comfortable with the process (teaching them to "fish" so to speak.) After we are done, they are able to always go back and reprint their forms and worksheets in the future.

I do encounter questions I cannot answer (after all, I'm not a tax expert.) But between the TurboTax user forums and the IRS site, we can usually figure it out.

Spread the word so I can help the Body! Perhaps you could put a short blurb in the announcements?

BTW, I know I don't tell you enough but I appreciate both you and your lovely wife, Susan, and pray for reproductive blessings for both of you

I thought this would be a good place to have some discussions on Lent. Our church is only 2 years into participating in this season and this year I have recieved some really interesting comments and questions that have intriqed me. Like Christmas and Easter there are questions about it's orgins and like many church calendar dates there are some uneasy Roman Catholic similarities that bring some doubt and confussion. As a modern expression of the faith, VCC has our own traditions and methods as are on our journey and this is one of them we are forging.

some questions to get us going...

Are you participating in Lent, why or why not?

Do you beleive that somethign with shady orgins can be reclaimed for good?

What role does fasting play in your spiritual journey, if any?
